Artist Jan Kuschner has loved homes and historic dwellings since her childhood in Michigan. It pleases her to reach others on this personal level by capturing a childhood home, a present one, or reintroducing them to a favorite place they have visited. Her artistic renderings often include people, pets, or a montage depicting a potpourri of memories.
Jan studied art at Michigan State University, and was also influenced by her exposure to historic areas as an Army wife. The castle near West Point and old homes near and on Fort Leavenworth, Kansas introduced her to a life-long love of architectural renderings, which began in Leavenworth in 1976. That love has carried her through almost 20 years in the Pacific Northwest enjoying the pioneer spirit of Alaska and exploring the Puget Sound in Washington state. A source of pride to Jan is the realization that her renderings are displayed in homes coast to coast and beyond.
Below are samples of Jan’s works of art. She enjoys working on commission, but occasionally creates a piece many can enjoy in their homes. Click on each image to see it larger. If you would like to learn more about having one of Jan’s pieces, please contact dorMail Gallery.
